Frequently asked questions

What is mobile plant maintenance?
Mobile plant maintenance covers the inspection, servicing, repair and overhaul of self-propelled heavy equipment such as excavators, diggers, dozers, loaders, graders, drills and haul trucks. It keeps machines safe, compliant and productive, and reduces unplanned downtime.

What equipment does EMS maintain?

We maintain most mobile and heavy mobile equipment (HME) used on mining and civil sites, including excavators, diggers, haul trucks, dozers, loaders, graders and drill rigs, across mechanical, auto electrical, welding and line boring disciplines.

Do you offer on-site field service, or workshop repairs only?
Both. Our field service vehicles are mine site compliant and equipped to complete most work where your plant is. Larger rebuilds and fabrication can also be handled off site when that is the better option.

How quickly can you respond to a breakdown?
Speed is built into how we work. We run a responsive FIFO pool and emergency callout teams so we can mobilise quickly for urgent breakdowns and keep your downtime to a minimum.

Which parts of Australia do you cover?
We operate across metro Perth, the Pilbara, the Goldfields and the Northern Territory, and support east coast clients from our Mackay office in Queensland.

Are your technicians trade certified and site compliant?
Yes. Every technician is trade certified, and our crews meet site safety, induction and compliance requirements so they are ready to work the moment they arrive.

Can you support planned shutdowns as well as routine maintenance?
Yes. Alongside scheduled servicing and breakdown repairs, our HME shutdown teams plan, resource and deliver shutdown scopes against tight timelines so your equipment returns to production on schedule.

What is the difference between mobile plant maintenance and fixed plant maintenance?
Mobile plant maintenance covers self-propelled machines like excavators, diggers and haul trucks. Fixed plant maintenance covers stationary processing equipment such as crushers and conveyors. EMS specialises in mobile plant and heavy mobile equipment.
